For 2014 Aeron has made some notable improvements to the range with regards to weight and function. As the well proven shapes remain unchanged, there are only subtle changes to improve the products function.
NO JAM TAIL CLEAT
Carbon Wave - Stainless Cleat - Less = more - This slim design takes away the bulk of the back end - The design addresses function alone – Rope hook orientation eliminates rope jam. Side bumpers on tail reduces wear on abrasive surfaces.
As a standard on MCT booms, the new tail end eliminates rope jam when out hauling - a simple change but a favorable result. Less time fiddling, more time sailing.
MATERIAL
For 2014, Aeron have slightly adjusted materials specs to meet the demands of our team at the top level. Although un noticeable to most, the new materials will give our team the performance they request.
The Higher durometer boom head elastomer not only improves slippage but is more durable.
The T CUP has a modification to improve the attachment and detachment of the skinny mast adapter.
Stiffer T – CUP and assembly process gives noticeable increase in boom stiffness with the larger sizes.
PRE PREG CARBON
After months of development, Aeron are now happy to release the full Carbon boom range in Pre-Preg technology. The result is a range of booms lighter and stiffer than previous years.
